Victim and arrested young man identified after fatal accident on Rruga e Dibrës

The victim and the driver of the motorcycle involved in the serious accident that occurred on the evening of 3 October on Rruga e Dibrës, in Tirana, have been identified.

The victim is Shpëtime Muça, 75, who was hit by the motorcycle and died a few hours later in hospital.

Arrested is Eri Markaj, 20, the driver of the motorcycle.

The accident occurred at around 19:35, when the motorcycle driven by Markaj hit the 75-year-old woman, who was on foot.

Shpëtime Muça was transported immediately to hospital, but despite the doctors’ efforts, she died at around 22:40.

The 20-year-old himself was also injured in the collision and is in hospital, out of danger to his life.

After the incident, the Tirana Traffic Police specialists arrested Eri Markaj in flagrante, while the procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecution for further action.
