Azerbaijan signs $10.8 billion in investment deals
BAKU, September 27, 2026 – Azerbaijan has signed investment agreements worth around $10.8 billion with partners from the Gulf and beyond, covering energy, logistics and infrastructure, as the Times of Central Asia reports.
The deals were signed at an investment forum in Baku, where officials pitched Azerbaijan as a bridge between Europe and Asia along the Middle Corridor trade route.
Energy dominates the package: new commitments in oil and gas as well as renewables, as Baku seeks to balance its hydrocarbon wealth with green transition goals.
Logistics and infrastructure projects — ports, railways and digital connectivity — make up much of the rest, aimed at cementing Azerbaijan’s role in east-west trade.
Economists say the scale of the deals reflects the Gulf states’ appetite for diversification and Azerbaijan’s strategic location, though implementation will be the real test.
