Coach John Hynes signs multi-year contract with Minnesota Wild

Coach John Hynes signed a multi-year contract with the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday. The terms of the deal, which takes effect next season, were not made public. Hynes has been at the helm of the team since November 27, 2023, and was entering the final season of his previous contract.

As NHL.com reports, in his three seasons with Minnesota he has a 125-78-24 record and has led the team to the Stanley Cup Playoffs twice, including the franchise’s first series win since 2015 last season. In playoff games with the Wild he has recorded 7 wins and 10 losses.

Over his career, Hynes stands at 409-333-87 as a coach, including his stints with Minnesota, the Nashville Predators (2019–23) and the New Jersey Devils (2015–19). Minnesota will open the regular season with a road game at Nashville on October 1.
