He allegedly tried to sell drugs near schools, 35-year-old arrested in Kombinat

A 35-year-old man has been arrested in Tirana as part of the police operation codenamed “Clean Schools”, which aims to prevent and crack down on the sale of narcotics near schools.

Officers of Police Commissariat No. 6, in cooperation with specialists of the Narcotics Investigation Section, caught citizen Armen Kalavace, 35, in flagrante in the Kombinat area, near a school’s security perimeter.

During the physical search and the search of his home, police seized more than 1 kilogram of a suspected narcotic substance, Cannabis Sativa, a quantity of cocaine, 3 electronic scales, 2 mobile phones and a sum of money, suspected to have been obtained from selling narcotics in doses.

According to police, from the information obtained and the investigative actions, it is suspected that the 35-year-old was trying to sell narcotics near schools, as well as in other premises in the Kombinat area.

Investigations into the case are continuing, while the procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecution for further action.
