Bill amending the Law on the Specialist Chambers published on the Assembly website

The Bill amending and supplementing the Law on the Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office has been published on the official website of the Assembly of Kosovo, as Telegrafi reports.

The document comes after the approval of the draft law in first reading in the Assembly, where 91 MPs voted in favour, with no votes against and no abstentions.

The initiative envisages changes in several aspects of the functioning of the Specialist Chambers, including jurisdiction, the time period covered by the Specialist Chambers, the maximum sentence, serving sentences in Kosovo and the possibility of a presidential pardon.

After approval in first reading, the draft law continues the parliamentary procedure for review in the relevant committees, before returning to the Assembly for a second reading.
