Delegates walk out of UN hall during Netanyahu’s speech in New York
Dozens of delegates from various countries walked out of the United Nations General Assembly hall during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech, Al Jazeera reported on Friday.
An Israeli official was filmed taking notes after the seats emptied during Netanyahu’s address at the session in New York.
The walkout reflects Israel’s growing diplomatic isolation on the international stage, as the Gaza war and the regional escalation tied to the US–Iran conflict have drawn widespread condemnation.
Netanyahu also faced sharp criticism over the recent Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon and the continuation of operations in Gaza, which the UN and humanitarian organizations have described as a humanitarian catastrophe.
The episode comes at a moment of high tensions in the Middle East, where Israel is one of the main actors in the war that began in February 2026 with the US-Israeli strikes on Iran, which Tehran has answered with strikes on Israel and Gulf states hosting US bases.
