“Full transparency for the public” – Jaupaj: “Flamingo Mirror” will reflect the documents and environmental studies

The Minister of Environment, Sofjan Jaupaj, has given details on how the “Flamingo Mirror” platform will work, stressing that the aim is to give the public more direct access to institutional documents and procedures on issues of public interest.

According to Jaupaj, documents of the institutions related to certain files will be published on the platform, while the focus is currently on the Sazan-Zvernec file.

The platform is also expected to include the questions and concerns raised in the media and on social networks, especially on issues related to strategic investments and protected areas.

“This is a page to give the public the opportunity to get to know the documents and procedures, since documents of the institutions related to certain files are published there, currently the Sazan-Zvernec one. The public must understand the division of responsibilities of the institutions. The questions raised in the media and on social networks regarding strategic investors and protected areas will also be published. The page will be updated with new documents and developments, which will also include the results of environmental monitoring or how they are treated at different stages of development projects,” he said.

Special attention, according to Jaupaj, will be devoted to environmental studies, which will reflect the decisions and assessments of experts, the positions of environmental organisations, as well as the consultations carried out in the field.

“The whole working group will include the clarifications given, supported by law and documents. This helps us better understand when information needs supplementing or which issues require a clearer explanation for the public. This process will take place with full transparency, especially in environmental studies, where the decisions of experts and environmental organisations, but also the consultations in the field, will be reflected,” he said.
