Helicopter crash in Canada kills 4

Four people lost their lives in a helicopter crash southeast of Montreal, police in the Canadian province of Quebec announced on Saturday afternoon.

According to the CBC and CTV television networks, police said the helicopter crashed at around 14:30 (Canadian EST; 21:30 in the evening Greek time) and was in flames when emergency services arrived at the scene, near Sainte-Brizide-d’Iberville.

The Sûreté du Québec, the police force of the French-speaking province, said all four people aboard the helicopter were dead. It was unable to give details on which company or operator the helicopter belonged to, where it had departed from and where it was headed, or the purpose of the flight.

Canada’s Transportation Safety Board (TSB in English, BST in French) announced its team has been tasked with conducting an investigation.
