Interior Ministry: 13 People Detained During Traffic Checks

Over the past 24 hours, police officers across the country detained 13 people for careless driving.

Of these, 11 drivers were driving vehicles without a driving license, from Veles, Skopje and Prilep. Two drivers, from Kumanovo and Skopje, were driving vehicles under the influence of alcohol. During the measures and activities, for a driver from Skopje who was driving a vehicle without a driving license, it was determined that the front license plate of the passenger vehicle did not belong to the vehicle, the Interior Ministry announced.

The Interior Ministry announces that after full documentation of the cases, relevant criminal charges will be filed.

The Interior Ministry continues with intensified traffic checks, with the aim of sanctioning careless drivers and preventing behavior that endangers the safety of all road users.

“Respecting traffic rules and regulations, holding a valid driving license and driving the vehicle in a sober state are the basis for safe traffic,” the Interior Ministry stresses.
