Kadri Veseli Sentenced to 18 Years in Prison — His Son Reacts

Kadri Veseli’s son, Klestro Veseli, spoke out after the Hague trial chamber’s verdict, under which his father was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

After the verdict was announced, Klestro Veseli said the family would stand strong, despite the sentence imposed on the former Kosovo Assembly speaker.

“Thank you all very much, but we are strong, we must stand strong — we have nothing more,” Klestro Veseli said.

Meanwhile, Kadri Veseli’s defense is expected to appeal the verdict at the Appeals Court of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers, seeking to overturn the conviction and a final acquittal for him.

Kadri Veseli was sentenced to 18 years in prison, with the time spent in pre-trial detention counted toward the sentence.
