Kulluri: For every two trash bins in Albania there is a photographer filming the cleanup
Appearing on “Review” with Greta Topjana, analyst Edvin Kulluri, while discussing the problems he says accompany governance in the country, claimed that in Tirana “there are photographers filming cleaning workers near garbage bins, for propaganda purposes.”
“In Albania we have a deterioration of governance parameters. Take property rights — a catastrophe; take local governance — a centralizing reform has been carried out, like in communist times. Municipalities have no budget, they collect no taxes, he has taken everything from them. No EU country has this kind of administration. Do you know that for every trash bin in Tirana there are photographers photographing the cleaners to make propaganda? Who pays these people? Our taxes. Go out and see. I don’t know how to lie. When I say one for every bin, I mean photographers are paid for every five bins. You find them at the Parliament Lawn, photographing municipal workers cleaning the garbage bins, mowing the grass, purely for propaganda. Where in the world is there a government that pays an army of thousands of people to make videos and propaganda? This doesn’t exist in a democratic country,” Kulluri said.
Meanwhile, in a live link from Brussels, journalist Julian Kasapi offered an example from his own experience while in Ecuador for a documentary. According to him, he had seen a similar situation there.
“In Ecuador there was one photographer and two workers. The photographer took pictures from different angles to post them on social media,” Kasapi said.
