Miliband Meets Araghchi at the UN: Warns Iran Against “Hostile Activity” on British Soil

British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

During the meeting, Miliband warned his Iranian counterpart against “hostile activity” on British soil, according to reports from the talks.

The meeting is part of an intense round of diplomacy on the UN sidelines this week, where Araghchi has also held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, as well as European and regional foreign ministers.

The British warning follows accusations by Britain, the U.S. and the Netherlands that Iranian state actors spied on dissidents with the “CHOSEN BRICK” spyware program, as well as ongoing tensions over Iran’s nuclear program and the nearly seven-month U.S.–Iran war.

On the other hand, Iran has repeatedly accused Europe of “double standards” and of enabling Israeli crimes in the region.
