Mohsen Rezaei: Iran Has 7 Conditions for Starting Talks with the US — Lifting the Naval Blockade, Unfreezing Assets, Halting the War

Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, called on the United States to accept Iran’s “rights and conditions” if they want to de-escalate the conflict. In a post on the X platform, Rezaei wrote: “Iran has announced 7 conditions for starting any negotiation with the United States,” adding that “Tehran’s message is clear and unambiguous; if Washington wants to escape the quagmire it has created, it must recognize Iran’s rights and accept its conditions.”

The post came after an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera, in which Rezaei said Tehran has conveyed its conditions for ending the war to the White House through Qatari mediators. Among the conditions are the lifting of the US naval blockade, the unfreezing of Iranian frozen assets, and the halting of the war on all fronts, particularly on the Yemeni front.

Rezaei repeated two messages in parallel: Tehran’s readiness for diplomatic engagement, but also preparation for another round of confrontation. He confirmed that Iran’s nuclear doctrine will remain unchanged, emphasizing commitment to the supreme leader’s fatwa, while leaving open the possibility of a change in the future.

At the same time, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is expected to arrive in Tehran today for bilateral talks — the Iranian Foreign Ministry said, however, that it was not aware whether he carries any message from the US.
