NEW YORK – Pezeshkian: Iran will allow the return of UN nuclear inspectors
NEW YORK, Sept. 26 /ATSH – ANSA/ – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Iran may allow the return of United Nations nuclear inspectors to the country.
In an interview with CBS News, Pezeshkian was asked whether, following earlier restrictions on inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), they would now be allowed to enter Iran.
The Iranian president described that possibility as accurate, stressing that if inspectors wish to enter the country and carry out inspections, “we can reach agreements and understandings” on the matter as part of the negotiations.
The statement comes at a time when the issue of Iran’s nuclear program remains one of the central topics in Tehran’s relations with the international community.
