Paris: 700,000 faithful at Pope Leo XIV’s Mass
Paris, September 26 — The Mass celebrated by Pope Leo XIV at Place de la Concorde in Paris began today shortly after 15:00, before a huge crowd of faithful gathered along the Champs-Élysées.
According to the Vatican, around 700,000 people are taking part in the Mass, which marks the culmination of the second day of the Pope’s visit to France.
This is the first visit of a Pope to Paris since 2008, when the French capital was visited by Pope Benedict XVI.
Leo XIV’s visit to France has drawn large numbers of faithful, with the massive turnout at today’s Mass marking one of the key moments of his stay in Paris, as ATSH–AFP reports.
