Parliament convenes today in plenary session, constituents’ issues on the agenda

Parliament convenes this Monday (5 October) in plenary session to discuss the issues identified by constituents. The meeting will start at 15:00 and, according to the agenda, the session will begin with the approval of the minutes of the plenary meeting of 24 September, continuing with announcements and discussions on the issues raised by constituents.

As part of the “Faithful Presence” initiative, MPs hold meetings with their constituents every Friday at 17:00. The issues, complaints and requests raised during these meetings will also be brought for discussion in the plenary session.

Today’s session comes after a tense Parliament meeting on 24 September, where clashes between the opposition and the majority centred on the case of the former director of SHISH, Vlora Hyseni. During the previous session, the opposition requested a change to the agenda to hold a debate on the developments at SHISH and the situation created after the security measure was imposed on Hyseni. The request was not accepted by the majority, while opposition MPs blocked the Parliament rostrum, causing repeated interruptions of the proceedings.
