Protest outside parliament escalates, Hysni Gucati ends up at UCCK
The head of the Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans’ Organisation, Hysni Gucati, has ended up at Pristina’s Emergency Department (UCCK) after the protest outside the Kosovo parliament escalated, as Klan Kosova reports. In footage released from the scene, Gucati was seen getting out of an ambulance in front of the Emergency building.
The protest outside the Kosovo parliament escalated on Sunday evening, according to Klan Kosova’s reporting. At least one Kosovo Police officer was injured, while the condition of several protesters worsened because of the tear gas fired to disperse the crowd.
The protesters are demanding a vote on the bill amending the Law on the Specialist Chambers, which the Kosovo parliament approved at first reading with 91 votes in favour. Representatives of the organisations that emerged from the war remain unwavering in their stance on this process.
The incident is still unfolding, and the authorities have not yet given full details of the circumstances of the escalation.
