SDSM: Mickoski is blocking the road to the EU because he fears the European Prosecutor’s Office
SDSM spokeswoman Bogdanka Kuzeska, at today’s press conference, as Fokus reports, accused Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski of blocking North Macedonia’s road to the European Union because he fears the European Public Prosecutor’s Office. “For months we have been saying: the EU process is standing still because Mickoski fears the European Public Prosecutor,” she said, claiming this is now also confirmed in writing.
“Von der Leyen is turning enlargement around. Before membership — first membership in the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO). Not after. Before. Accession candidates enter chief prosecutor Laura Kovesi’s network while they are still not members. The translation for Macedonia: there is no longer a prosecutor by phone,” Kuzeska said, according to Fokus.
She stressed that, according to SDSM, an investigation does not stop before a surname, a function or a party card: “five tons across the border get a name, a tender gets an act, a cash register gets an owner.” As an example she gave Hungary, where — according to her — two ministers of Viktor Orbán’s government have so far been arrested: “this is what it looks like when you are in the Union and when those in power are not an organized criminal group.”
“That is why the thief closes the door. That is why Montenegro, Albania, Moldova and Ukraine get roadmaps. We have been left out with Kosovo and Serbia. That is why ‘not at any price’ — because the price is someone’s freedom,” Kuzeska said. According to her, the citizens of Macedonia are hostages of the current authorities, and the time is coming, she claims, when investigations will not be ordered by phone and when this group will answer.
