“Friend of the Book” campaign returns with writer Vath Koreshi

The beginning of this October marked the return of the “Friend of the Book” campaign, organized by the National Center for Books and Reading.

The campaign’s first activity took place at the “Ismail Qemali” school, with a discussion on writer Vath Koreshi, one of the important names of Albanian letters, who is commemorated on the 90th anniversary of his birth. This campaign also coincides with “Book October,” a month during which activities dedicated to books increase.

The book selected for this activity, from Vath Koreshi’s work, was “Konomea,” which a good part of the pupils had read. This turned the meeting into a conversation with scholar Dhurata Shehri, who made the discussion more interesting, and questions for her continued even after the meeting ended, outside the school’s theater hall.

Interestingly, reading Vath Koreshi’s book had spurred the pupils’ curiosity to read other books by the author, but also from contemporary Albanian literature.
