20-year-old arrested in Tirana after fatally striking a 75-year-old woman with his motorcycle

A serious road accident was recorded on the evening of October 3 in Tirana, where a 75-year-old woman lost her life after being hit by a motorcycle.

The incident occurred at around 19:35 on Dibra Street. According to the Police, the motorcycle driven by 20-year-old Eri Markaj hit the pedestrian Shpëtime Muça, 75 years old.

The injured woman was transported to hospital to receive medical assistance, but despite the doctors’ efforts, she died at around 22:40.

The motorcycle driver, Eri Markaj, was also injured in the accident; he is in hospital and out of danger for his life.

Specialists of the Tirana Traffic Police Commissariat arrested the 20-year-old in the act.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecution for further action.
