Hundreds of citizens at the charity basketball tournament in Podgorica for Budućnost’s ill fan

As Vijesti reports, the “Turnir za Čaku” (Tournament for Čaka) basketball tournament was held today in Podgorica’s Njegoš Park, organised to raise help for Aleksandar Čaka Ivanović, the leader of the Budućnost fans known as the “Varvari,” who is facing a serious illness.

The tournament opened at 11:00 and Ivanović himself was present at the opening, Vijesti writes. According to the organisers, the “Varvari,” 62 teams from Montenegro, but also from the region, took part in the competition.

As Vijesti reports, a large number of citizens and athletes were present in the park — among them Budućnost Voli basketball players, water polo players, footballers and handball players — all gathered for the same purpose: help for Čaka.

Today’s event once again showed the solidarity of the Montenegrin sporting community, where fans, clubs and citizens united beyond sporting rivalries for a human cause.
