Iranian army spokesman warns of “new military technologies” and “surprises” against any aggression
The spokesman of Iran’s armed forces, Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, warned that any aggression against Iran would be met with new military technologies, as Al Jazeera reports.
“Iran’s armed forces are in very good shape,” Shekarchi told state media, adding that the military has been strengthened by moving toward asymmetric warfare and relying on domestic capabilities.
“Iran’s missiles and drones have become more advanced and more powerful, and this time we have surprises for the enemy. We will respond to any possible aggression by the enemy with new military technologies,” he declared.
Shekarchi explained that Iran’s asymmetric approach aims to counter expensive, heavy weapons with less costly but effective and practical defensive equipment.
The warning comes as U.S. President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s proposal for a week-long plan that would reopen the Strait of Hormuz and lower tensions, keeping the conflict in a dangerous phase of escalation, Al Jazeera reports.
