IRGC: Iran Is Building ‘Permanent Strategic Deterrence’ Against the U.S.

A spokesman for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has declared that Iran has emerged victorious from the conflict with the United States and is now building “permanent strategic deterrence” to prevent future attacks.

In comments broadcast by Iranian state television IRIB, the spokesman claimed the U.S. has failed to damage Iran’s missile capabilities despite months of bombing. He added that Iran’s armed forces are “more prepared than ever” for any future confrontation.

The statement coincides with a climate of harsh rhetoric from both sides, as the nearly seven-month war continues and diplomatic efforts at the UN seek a way out through the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, as Al Jazeera reports.
