Israeli army raids Mount Jabal al-Rafih in the Jezzine area, southern Lebanon
The Israeli army carried out a raid on Mount Jabal al-Rafih, in the village of Sojod in the Jezzine area of southern Lebanon, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) announced on Saturday, as reported by Al Jazeera. No further details about the operation have been made public yet.
The raid comes amid a continued wave of attacks and counterattacks on the Israeli-Lebanese border, where the Israeli military has intensified operations against Hezbollah positions in the country’s south. Earlier on Saturday, the Israeli army said it had struck a Hezbollah weapons depot in southern Lebanon.
The Jezzine area in southern Lebanon has been a constant scene of tensions since the regional conflict escalated, with exchanges of fire forcing thousands of civilians to flee border villages.
There are no reports of casualties from Saturday’s raid so far, and Lebanese authorities have not yet officially commented on the operation.
