NAMES: Attempted Murder, Drugs and Weapons — Two Internationally Wanted Arrested in Italy, Extradition via Interpol Awaited
The State Police has finalized two new phases of the police operation codenamed “The Wanted”, making possible the capture and arrest in Italy of two Albanian citizens declared internationally wanted.
The operation was conducted in close cooperation between specialists of the Interpol Directorate and their counterparts at Interpol Rome, and was confirmed today (September 18).
Arrested were 33-year-old Muhamet Bedulla, sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempted intentional murder (after in 2017 he stabbed the father of the person he had clashed with in Korçë), as well as a 26-year-old with the initials Uendi Braçja, accused of selling narcotics and unauthorized possession of weapons.
Both citizens are expected to be extradited to Albania to serve their sentences or to face justice.
Police announcement:
“Arrested in Italy, 2 citizens convicted/accused of attempted murder with a cutting tool, sale of narcotics and unlawful possession of military ammunition.
In continuation of the close cooperation with Italian partners, concretized through operational and informational coordination between the specialists of the Interpol Directorate and their counterparts at Interpol Rome, 2 further phases of the operation codenamed “The Wanted” were finalized, which resulted in the arrest in Italy, for the purpose of extradition to Albania, of 2 citizens declared internationally wanted. Specifically, the following citizens were arrested:
-Muhamet Bedulla, 33 years old, whom the Korçë Court, in 2018, sentenced to 10 years imprisonment, for the criminal offense “Intentional murder”, remaining in attempt. In 2017, this citizen attempted to kill citizen A. S. (the father of the citizen he had clashed with in Korçë), whom he wounded three times with a cutting tool (knife). Of the sentence, the 33-year-old has 3 years and 4 months of imprisonment left to serve;
-U. B., 26 years old, for whom the Elbasan Court, in 2025, set the security measure “Arrest in prison”, for the criminal offenses “Production and sale of narcotics” and “Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition”. In 2024, citizen U. B. was caught selling narcotic substance Cannabis Sativa, and is accused of keeping in his apartment considerable quantities of military cartridges and 2 pistol magazines.
Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome continue to cooperate to finalize the procedures for the extradition of both citizens to Albania.”
