Pupils and students join protesters in support of the KLA outside the Assembly since last night
The protest outside Kosovo’s Assembly has begun to draw young people as well. Alongside the citizens who have stayed in protest since Sunday evening, a number of pupils and students have now gathered outside the Assembly, backing the call of the “Not in My Name” initiative.
The protesters are asking MPs to approve amendments to the Law on the Specialist Chambers and the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office. The initiative had called for a gathering today at 08:00, at the time when activities are held ahead of the Assembly session.
At 08:00, the draft law is expected to be reviewed by the Committee on Legislation, while at 09:00 the Assembly’s plenary session is expected to begin, with the first reading of the draft law as the first item on the agenda.
Also at 09:00, the KLA War Veterans’ Organisation has announced a protest outside the Assembly, demanding that MPs vote in favour of the legal amendments.
The protesters of the “Not in My Name” initiative stayed overnight near the Assembly, and in the morning they called on citizens to join them at Skanderbeg Square, as Telegrafi reports.
