Trial Panel: Limaj, Geci, Mustafa and Gashi were “diligent implementers” of the criminal purpose against opponents

The Trial Panel has declared that Fatmir Limaj, Sabit Geci, Rrustem Mustafa and Latif Gashi were “diligent implementers” of a criminal purpose that, according to the court, targeted the opponents of the KLA.

According to the Trial Panel’s findings, the plan included setting up detention facilities in KLA-controlled areas, identifying persons considered opponents, arresting and detaining them and, when deemed necessary, killing them.

“The plan was simple and demonstrable,” the Trial Panel declared.

The Court also found that none of the accused — including Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi — took steps to stop or withdraw from this plan.

On the contrary, according to the court, they jointly contributed to, encouraged and enabled its implementation.

“The plan was theirs and they remained loyal to it until they no longer needed it,” the court was told.

According to the Trial Panel, the established crimes were the consequence of a criminal plan, which was carried out by the accused personally and through other persons.
