Covers Three Roles and Keeps Milan Balanced: Cardinale “Orders” Rabiot Renewal

The Rossoneri club’s owner wants the deal with the Frenchman extended. Details on the midfielder’s future and other plans.

Adrien Rabiot’s future will be increasingly Rossoneri. Gerry Cardinale, the owner of Milan, has personally put the renewal with the French midfielder at the top of his agenda. He is expected to return to Milan in the first half of October and will deal with this matter.

Rabiot’s current contract expires in 2028, with an option also for 2029, but the Rossoneri executives want to renew now, at least until 2030, according to “La Gazzetta dello Sport”.

His performances on the pitch have confirmed Rabiot’s importance for Milan. He is able to adapt to several roles: central midfielder, playmaker, or even trequartista. The Frenchman guarantees balance, muscle and tactical intelligence. It is no coincidence that the renewal has also been requested by coach Ruben Amorim.

Beyond the technical impact, the club’s plans have also been accelerated by the player’s own words about the strong bond he has with Milan. Rabiot has always stressed that he feels happy at this team and does not want to change surroundings, dismissing any hypothesis of departure.

In the coming weeks Cardinale will begin official talks with his mother-agent Veronique — who has so far waited in silence — to fix the economic terms and duration of the new contract. Rabiot was bought from Olympique Marseille in the summer of 2025 for 7 million euros and quickly became immovable in the Rossoneri lineup.
