“Here There Are Blueberries” reveals the full cast for its Broadway premiere: Michael Cerveris, Montego Glover and Brandon Flynn at the Barrymore Theatre
The full ensemble cast for the Broadway premiere of the new play “Here There Are Blueberries” was announced today, as BroadwayWorld reports. The play, written by Moisés Kaufman and Amanda Gronich and conceived and directed by Kaufman, brings to the stage of the Barrymore Theatre a true story that begins in 2007, when an album of Nazi-era photographs arrived at the office of an archivist at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
In the leading roles will be two-time Tony winner Michael Cerveris (“Fun Home,” “Assassins”), Tony nominee Montego Glover (“Memphis”), Tony nominee Conrad Ricamora (“Oh, Mary!”), “13 Reasons Why” star Brandon Flynn, three-time OBIE winner Kathleen Chalfant (“Angels in America”), as well as Scott Barrow, Michelle Beck and Delia Cunningham. Understudies will be Jeanne Sakata, Anna Shafer, Marrick Smith and Grant James Varjas.
According to the same announcement, the show will play a 10-week engagement: previews begin on Monday, November 2, at the Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street) in a co-production with La Jolla Playhouse, while the official opening night is set for November 9 and the final performance will be on January 10, 2027. The play was created by members of Tectonic Theater Project, the theatre company founded by Kaufman.
This premiere follows the world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse in 2022 and the Off-Broadway run at New York Theatre Workshop in 2024. The play was named a Pulitzer Prize finalist and won two Lucille Lortel Awards, including best play, while it was also nominated for the Outer Critics Circle and Drama League awards.
