LAFC’s Aaron Long Fined by MLS Disciplinary Committee

Major League Soccer’s Disciplinary Committee has issued decisions following the Week 27 matches of the 2026 season, fining several players, coaches and clubs for violations of on-field conduct rules.

According to mlssoccer, the Disciplinary Committee fined LAFC defender Aaron Long for failing to leave the field promptly in the 36th minute of the match against the San Jose Earthquakes on September 19. Also fined was New York City FC forward Alonso Martínez for violating the league’s policy against simulation/embellishment in the 71st minute of the clash with the Red Bulls of New York on September 18. In the same week, the Committee found violations of the Mass Confrontation Policy in first-half stoppage time (45+) during the match between the Philadelphia Union and Sporting Kansas City on September 19; both clubs, as well as coaches Ryan Richter (Philadelphia Union) and Raphaël Wicky (Sporting Kansas City), were fined. For their role in instigating and/or escalating the mass confrontation, Philadelphia Union player and staff members Bruno Damiani, Danley Jean Jacques, Kai Wagner and athletic trainer Paul Rushing, as well as Sporting Kansas City player and staff members Stephen Afrifa, Zorhan Bassong, Moisés Mosquera and assistant coach Ashley Wallace, will also be fined.
