Stephanie Vaquer Reclaims WWE Women’s World Championship in Surprise Win in Santiago

Stephanie Vaquer reclaimed the WWE women’s world title after a surprise victory over Liv Morgan at a live event held Saturday in Santiago, Chile. The match took place as a rematch after interference had ruined their previous meeting, while Becky Lynch served as special referee during the clash.

According to Bleacher Report, Vaquer had held the title for 210 days before losing it to Morgan at WrestleMania 42 in May. She had first won the title at Women’s Crown Jewel 2025 against Tiffany Stratton and had subsequently defended it against names such as Nikki Bella and Raquel Rodriguez. Adam Pearce announced the rematch for the Santiago event after interference from Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, and during the match Becky Lynch once stopped the count when Morgan had Vaquer caught, but Vaquer came back to secure the victory.

Although it had previously been reported that Vaquer was facing physical problems, that did not stop her from taking the opportunity in Saturday’s rematch. Her victory marks a significant comeback after the loss in April and consolidates her standing as one of the leading names in the women’s division.

Vaquer’s surprise return and Morgan’s loss make this title change special for the live-event scene; Bleacher Report notes it is one of the rarest title changes at such events in recent years.
