Yemen’s Government Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia: “Terrorism and Hostility”

Yemen’s internationally recognized government has condemned attacks carried out by Houthi rebels against Saudi Arabia, declaring that both countries reject the group’s “terrorism and hostility.” In a statement published Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry announced that 13 civilians were wounded in the attacks, while homes and vehicles were also damaged.

The ministry described the attacks as a violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and said it rejects the use of Yemen’s territorial integrity as a “platform” for Iran. It called on the international community to “stand firm against the Houthis” and to put an end to their attacks.

The condemnation follows a wave of attacks the Iran-backed Houthis have carried out against Saudi territory, including Monday’s attack with dozens of missiles and drones on the air base in Khamis Mushait, in which 13 civilians were wounded. Saudi Arabia has vowed to respond to the group’s attacks “with resolve.”

Meanwhile, fighting between Yemen’s government forces and the Houthis continues around the city of Taiz, where coalition aircraft struck a ballistic missile launch platform, while the Houthis claim Saudi aircraft carried out dozens of airstrikes during Tuesday. The escalation in Yemen has forced more than 125,000 people to flee their homes in the past week alone, according to the United Nations.
