I shumëkërkuari për sulmet e nënëtorit në Paris, Salah Abdeslam është arrestuar nga policia belge në Bruksel, pas një operacioni të forcave speciale.
Lajmin e bëjnë të ditur mediat belge që citojnë burime të policisë. Gjatë operacionit të forcave të rendit, të zhvilluar në lagjen me dendësi popullsie islamike Molenbek, u përdorën armë zjarri dhe granata, si dhe mbetën të plagosur 2 persona, njëri prej të cilëve Abdeslam.
Abdeslam, një shtetas francez i lindur në Bruksel, ka jetuar në Molenbek pas sulmeve të 13 nëntorit në kryeqytetin francez, ku mbetën të vrarë 130 persona.
Ai ka qenë subjekt i një fushate të gjerë kërkimi të forcave të rendit për sulmet në fjalë, të marra përsipër nga Shteti Islamik.
Më herët u raportua se gjurmë të gishtave të Abdeslam ishin gjetur në një apartament të bastisur pak ditë më parë nga policia. Por prokurorët belgë deklaruan për BBC se, nuk dihej me saktësi se kur personi kishte qenë në atë apartament, pasi koha e gjurmëve nuk mund të përcaktohej.
Në operacionet e mëhershme të policisë belge, një shtetas algjerian, Mohamed Belkaid, i lidhur po ashtu me sulmet e Parisit, mbeti i vrarë në lagjen periferike Forest.
