Young people’s interest in the KSF is growing, 234 applications for 44 positions
Interest in a military career in the Kosovo Security Force continues to grow. In the latest competition of the Ministry of Defense and the KSF, 234 young people applied for just 44 cadet positions, making the competition one of the most competitive in recent years and reflecting the growing trust in the country’s security institutions.
234 young people have applied for just 44 open positions for cadets in the Kosovo Security Force from June 1 to today, when the application deadline has also ended. The competition opened by the Ministry of Defense and the KSF includes the admission of cadets for studies at the Center for University Studies, as well as at the military academies of Turkey, Albania, Croatia and North Macedonia. With over five candidates competing for one position, the interest is considered among the highest in recent years.
The Ministry of Defense said that this great interest proves the trust of young people in security institutions and the growing attractiveness of the military profession. For the Ministry of Defense and the KSF, this is a clear indicator of the commitment of the new generations to serve the country and to contribute to strengthening the defense capacities of the Republic of Kosovo.
Meanwhile, security experts see the interest of young people in joining the Kosovo Security Force as a positive development for the country’s security and future. Security professor Fatmir Çollaku said that the increased interest in joining the KSF indicates a growing awareness among citizens about the importance of this institution.
“This is an indicator of the increasing awareness of Kosovo citizens to join, or rather to apply to the ranks of KSF soldiers, as an important, promising and guarantor subject for the security of Kosovo, as well as an institution where work, dedication and discipline are the main values”, said Fatmir Çollaku, professor of security.
On the other hand, security expert Arben Dashevci said that the interest of young people in becoming KSF cadets is a great benefit for both the state and future officers.
“It is a very big plus. Our young people should be interested in becoming KSF cadets, because the benefits are great for both the Republic of Kosovo and future officers. They have the right to participate in training in Croatia, Albania, Macedonia or the United Kingdom, as the conditions have been met and many officers have been educated,” said Arben Dashevci, an expert on security issues.
Increasing the number of young soldiers in the Kosovo Force not only strengthens the country’s defense capacities, but also creates professional and academic opportunities for young people, contributing to the development of a more prepared and professional force for the future of Kosovo./RTK
